First time walking the Brooklyn Bridge!

#HeyBoo

Today’s post is coming from a born and raised New Yorker who has never walked the brooklyn bridge! I have lived here for 27 years and never managed to walk the bridge! I have driven on it to see friends but never walked it! I feel like life has changed a lot for me since I gave up my car about a year and a half ago. I have been driving since I was 16 and would not do anything without driving. When I started working in the city and living in the bronx it became pointless to have a car because I would walk to the train and my job is right off the train. My car would literally sit for a month at a time, especially since my boyfriend also had a car and weekends we usually rode in his car.

Ok so story time here, I didn’t fully come to the conclusion on my own to give up my car, I was having a hard time letting go even though I barely drove anymore! Well apparently a cop in the neighborhood was so tired of my car being parked in a spot for a long period of time they pretended to write a tow marker all over my car and took my license plates off my car one night when I came home! What the hell! I was so upset, my car was not affecting anyone in the neighborhood and I clearly moved it once in a while! Any who it was what I needed to let the car go and move on to one less expense in my pocket! I have since been learning the meaning of sacrifice, I know if one day I want to live out my dreams I have to sacrifice now. I am very fortunate to have a stable job in the mean time to help pay some debt off and invest in my dreams. In return, learning to do things on a budget has made me really explore the city and try new things. It is amazing how much this beautiful city has to offer. Just walking the bridge with my hunny turned my Sunday around from bored to exciting.

Don’t judge me but I definitely did not know that people put locks on the bridge LOL I thought that was only the love lock bridge in Paris. Well I will one day make it to Paris but in the meantime me and hubby stopped at Duane Reade to get a lock, oh yes we did! It was a little silly romantic moment! I also made sure we did it more toward the New York side since we aren’t from Brooklyn haha. It’s the little things in life that are more fun, intimate, and meaningful! I must say I would rather travel than
