How to dress up a simple sweater dress

I know this post was supposed to go up yesterday according to my Instagram but I am here today up late doing this post so it can go live! I wanted to share with you this simple look I put together last minute. When wearing a basic sweater dress, fur vest are like the best piece you can add to make it look dressy. This vest I purchased a while ago at H&M to give the dress some attitude! I also added a statement necklace which as I have mentioned in previous post is always a great touch to any outfit! I love to make simple clothing items look more than what they are. It is a great feeling to be in a room with people wearing name brands and knowing you look just as good and didn’t break the bank! To me a deal is way better than overpaying for something you know you can buy for less. There are exceptions to buying name brands, especially when it comes to quality there are certain key wardrobe pieces worth spending the money because you know it will last you for a long period of time. But let’s be real, we honestly have 1 pair of jeans that are our favorite, along with the same few shirts and shoes you wear religiously. If I know I am not going to wear an item all the time, I usually go cheap so I feel less guilty on my pocket. For instance I bought this outfit originally for an event I was going to last minute. Let me tell you how I can count on one hand how many times I wore this outfit, 2 times!

In my honest opinion overspending for a simple outfit is pointless unless you are purchasing for quality and multiple use. If you tend to wear outfits once in a blue like me it is probably easier to buy cheaper. Some prefer the name brand and the quality and they have every right to buy and spend especially if you have it. I know where my budget it so I prefer to spend less on clothing and maybe splurge on myself once in a while for items I truly love and know will get use out of. Don’t get me wrong though I would so buy more name brand if my budget was there LOL but I feel you have to be able to wear the $10 shirt from Forever21 that is exactly similar to the $80 dollar shirt you saw at Barney’s. Even if I had the money I still would want to be mindful of my spending, because there are plenty of other things in life I like to spend on too.
